WHERE WE ARE
We have two Villages located in Stony Hill, Kingston and Barrett Town, St. James where we offer a protective family environment for the children, adolescents and young people in our care. To understand a little more about the concept of a ‘Village’, it is an enclosed community where in each house, about 8 boys and girls live (without separating biological siblings) with a caregiver who is responsible to provide care and protection, together with a support team.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
The work of SOS Children’s Villages is funded mainly through generous individuals like you. When you Say Yes to SOS, you are making a lasting impact on the life of an at risk child. Your kind donations will help us to continue to provide food, shelter, protection, child friendly spaces, health care, education and other essentials for at risk children and young people.
There are many ways in which you can help:
We welcome donations from individuals or organizations to help us to continue the impactful work that we do. However frequent, large or small, every single donation is meaningful.
We accept donations in-kind that include school supplies, dry foodstuff, household items like cleaning detergents, books, shoes and clothes in good condition and toys that are child appropriate and in good condition. They can be dropped off at any of our 2 Children’s Villages or at our National Office. The items go a long way in supporting the needs of the children in our care.
Sponsorships are available for the children, youth, family houses and villages at SOS Children’s Villages Jamaica. The following are types of sponsorship
- Child sponsorship
- Family House sponsorship
- Village sponsorship
- Legacies and Testimonies
As a supporter of SOS Children’s Villages, there is the option of contributing to the SOS Villages of Jamaica Foundation via a “Last Will and Testimony”.
- Internship/Apprentice Offers (Companies/small business)
The youth in our care stand much to benefit from meaningful Internship and Apprenticeship commitments from our local business community. Through these initiatives, the exposure, skills and knowledge shared will assist in their development and enhance their chances for success.
