Our CEO and trustees

Alison Wallace, CEO

Alison has been CEO of SOS Children's Villages UK since January 2018. Prior to joining, she was CEO of the European Council on Foreign Relations and global relief organisation ShelterBox. She has held senior positions at Amnesty International, Friends of the Earth, and the Refugee Council, and has overseen relief operations for emergencies including Typhoon Haiyan and the Nepal earthquakes. She is also a trustee of Child Soldiers International.

Mary Maynard, Chair of Trustees

Mary Maynard has worked with SOS Children’s Villages for 19 years, and been chair of our board of trustees for the past eight. She has 20 years' management consultancy experience and is a councillor and cabinet member with Harpenden Town Council in St Albans.

Graham Budd

Graham has 25 years' global business leadership experience, and is currently Executive and Board Member at one of the UK’s most successful technology companies. He leads a charitable foundation which helps charities and start-ups grow their operations.

Matthew de Villiers

Matthew is CEO of Greenstone+, a sustainability software and services company, and has held senior positions at Accenture, IBM and FutureBrand. Previously, he spent five years working at our East Africa office where he supported our operations in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Ethiopia.

George Windsor, Earl of St Andrews

George is a former diplomat and now shares his expertise with a range of charities. In addition to his trusteeship at SOS Children’s Villages UK, he is a patron of the Association for International Cancer Research and trustee of conflict-resolution charity the Next Century Foundation.

Ayesha Khan

Ayesha has had a long-standing relationship with SOS Children's Villages UK and was chairperson and committee member of the SOS Children’s Villages UK Pakistan Supporters’ Group for 12 years. Previously, she served as treasurer of the Federation of International Women’s Associations.

Michael Brewer

Michael is a strategist and marketing consultant who has worked across public and private sectors to advise on growth and development.

Don Haszczyn

Don has been the International Director for Fund Development at SOS Children’s Villages International since 2017. Previously, he held senior positions at VisionFund International and Habitat for Humanity, where he developed the first Housing Forum Alliance in Central Asia.
