Education

Every child and young adult supported by SOS Children’s Villages UK receives a quality education – in local schools in their community or in SOS schools, serving not only the children at the SOS village but also children from surrounding communities. We ensure young people are taught by qualified, experienced teachers, and have the books and equipment they need to learn and play.
Beginning with early childhood and continuing beyond secondary school, we guide each young person in our care along a personal path from school to employability. By enabling access to education and training, and encouraging individual achievement, we open a world of life-changing opportunities for some of the world’s most vulnerable children.

More than 263 million children around the world do not have the chance to go to school. For many children extreme poverty is the main factor preventing them from getting an education. We believe the cycle of poverty can be broken if children gain a good education.
Around the world SOS Children’s Villages provides a holistic education to children and young people that develops cognitive, social, emotional, physical and vocational skills.
