Mumsnet features SOSUK's World Orphan Week 2018

Parenting website Mumsnet is to feature SOS Children’s Villages UK’s (SOSUK) relaunch of World Orphan Week as a guest campaign in February.

The influential platform has chosen SOSUK for a month-long promotion to its millions of users.

SOS Children’s Villages UK will be 50 this year and in February we’re asking the UK to support our work protecting and caring for vulnerable children.

More than 150 million children globally do not have parental care. SOSUK, through sister organisations in 125 countries, works with abandoned and orphaned children to give them a home, a loving family, a decent education and quality medical care.

SOSUK CEO Alison Wallace said: “This is an important year for SOSUK. We have been working with parentless children for 50 years – protecting their rights, ensuring care and safety during disasters and wars, and offering long-term support in foster family units.

“But the world is changing: there are multiple global conflicts, increasing resource shortages and more extreme poverty. And children without support structures are bearing the brunt.

“We know Mumsnet users will understand the importance of family in the welfare and life outcomes of children everywhere, and we hope they will help us spread the word that donating to SOSUK this World Orphan Week will mean we can help more at-risk children make it to adulthood with a better future.”

World Orphan Week (WOW) is February 3-10, 2018 and SOSUK is asking the UK to ‘Do Something WOW!’ to raise money for orphaned and abandoned children.
