University fundraising

Your university campus and halls of residence are great places to use your energy, skills and networks to raise awareness and fundraise for unsupported children and young people around the world.

Fundraise for SOS Children’s Villages UK and we will use your donations to:

  • Protect children impacted by conflicts, natural disasters and pandemics
  • Give unsupported children a safe home and family environment
  • Provide children with education and the chance to thrive

Fundraising on campus

Opportunities for fundraising at university are endless - it just takes your creativity and ambition to make it work. You could:

  • Put on a club night in aid of SOS Children’s Villages UK
  • Set up a stand at the student’s union
  • Organise a university lecture or talk about our cause
  • Create a supporter’s society
  • Fundraise for us during Raising and Giving week (RAG)
  • Place bucket collections around campus
  • Put on a sports event like a tug of war or football game
  • Do a challenge for us and select us as your chosen charity

Create a supporters' society

Link up with like-minded students to create an even bigger impact and be the driving force of change on your campus. Get in touch today to find out how to set up an SOS society at your university or to discuss other ways to get involved - email us at hello@sosuk.org.

Cambridge University supporters

The SOS Children's Villages UK supporters' society at Cambridge University – CUSOS – runs regular fundraising and awareness events on behalf of SOS Children’s Villages UK throughout the academic year.

The society runs a mixture of events including formal dinners, bake sales, speakers’ events and Christmas carolling and even boasts outreach officers who support fundraising in the local area.

University is such a wonderful time in which to engage with and support some really worthwhile causes, and CUSOS exists to do just that. We want to raise awareness about the work of SOS UK as well as fundraise for it, a task which is both greatly rewarding and incredibly humbling.

Becky Daltry
President of CUSOS 2017/18
