STONY HILL, KINGSTON

In 1982, on land leased from the government for 99 years, the second Village in Stony Hill, Kingston began ground-breaking. By the 1st February 1984, 24 children occupied 4 family houses. During that same year, a further 4 more houses were occupied. In 1986, the Village had 14 family houses and 1 Community Centre, which incorporate a multipurpose room, the office, the Director's apartment and an apartment for visitors.

Currently the Village accommodates approximately 115 children in 14 family houses. It also has a SOS Kindergarten, SOS Youth Facilities, Staff Accommodation, a Guest apartment, and the SOS Hermann Gmeiner School is under construction.


The SOS Children's Village in Stony Hill is located in a prime residential area and has a breath-taking view overlooking the Blue Mountains and is approximately 10 km from the city of Kingston.
