BARRETT TOWN, MONTEGO BAY

In 1995, SOS Jane Veira Kinder-Prep School began construction, and by 1st September 1996, the new academic year began with 4 classrooms. The school was a donation made to SOS Children's Village by The Hon. Heinz W. Simonitsch. Currently, the school supports approximately 80 children in the 4 classrooms, which caters to the educational needs of our SOS children, and those from the local community. The objective of the School is to offer an excellent educational service and promote the integration of the SOS Children's Village and its facilities in the local community. The required age of admittance is 3 years old. However, in the future, the school will have 6 classrooms and accommodate approximately 120 children, with children ranging from 3 to 12 years old. The SOS Jane Veira Kinder-Prep School offers extra-curricular activities such as speech and drama, sports and computing.
