SOS Children's Village Jamaica was founded with the initiative of Dr. Harland Hastings, Mr. John Rollins and the Hon. Heinz W. Simonitsch.

The first 3 family houses were constructed in Barrett Town, Montego Bay.

On November 26th, Barrett Town, Montego Bay had its first registration.

The second SOS Children's Village had ground breaking in October in Stony Hill, Kingston.

Between February and October, 8 family houses were occupied in Stony Hill, Kingston.

The SOS Youth Facility (Boys) is completed, with 9 occupants.

| 1995 |

In September, the SOS Kindergarten in Stony Hill, Kingston started with 3 classes, which serves the Village and the local community.

In Barrett Town, Montego Bay, the new academic year began for the SOS Jane Veira School.

Dr. Harland Hastings Founder of SOS Children's Village Jamaica, passed away.

|
In Montego Bay, a renovated house will accommodate 10 to 12 boys. Mr. John Rollins - Founder, and Mrs. Doris Hugh - Board Member, passed away.
