BARRETT TOWN, MONTEGO BAY

The Girls Apartment at the Village accommodates 8 female youngsters. Our youngsters leave the family houses at approximately 16 years old to take up residence in the Youth Facilities, and stay up to the age of 19 years when they either go on to higher education, move into Community Youth facilities or into independent living.

The overall goal of the Youth Facility is to prepare youngsters for adult life in self-sufficiency, to help them make realistic plans for themselves and to achieve their aims, and in general to teach them independence, responsibility and the decision-making habit. Additionally, the youngsters are offered support in making contacts with various organizations, authorities, and potential employers, etc., as well as any relatives they may have. A resident Female Supervisor monitors and supervises the youngsters in the Facility.
