MONTEGO BAY

In the year 2000, a house was renovated to accommodate 12 male youngsters, with 2 small apartments added for semi-independent living.

Currently, there are 10 youngsters occupying the facilities. Our youngsters leave the family houses at approximately 16 years old to take up residence in the Youth Facilities, and stay up to the age of 19 years, when they either go onto higher education, Community Youth Facilities or into independent living.

The overall goal of the Youth Facility is to prepare youngsters for adult life in self-sufficiency, to help them make realistic plans for themselves and to achieve their aims, and in general to teach them independence, responsibility and decision-making habit. Additionally, the youngsters are offered support in making contacts with various organizations and authorities and potential employees, etc., as well as any relatives they may have. A resident Male Supervisor monitors and supervises the youngsters in the Facility.
